Gilkey Organization Launches Land Advisory Division

Donald Schrotenboer named vice president of Gilkey Advisors

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2007) – Gilkey Organization, a Bonita Springs-based real estate consulting group, has hired Donald R. Schrotenboer to serve as vice president of Gilkey Advisors, a new business division that will focus exclusively on expert advisory services for large land owners who embrace the principles of sustainable development.

Gilkey Advisors will offer a full spectrum of land development advisory services including site evaluation, entitlements and permitting strategies, market positioning, community master planning, community outreach and education, community governance, and development coordination and management.

“The development process is multi-faceted and increasingly complex,” said Dennis Gilkey, CEO and managing principal of Gilkey Organization. “Our expertise includes overseeing and managing the full range of activities necessary for a successful development.”

Schrotenboer brings more than nine years of experience in land development and entitlement to Gilkey Advisors. Most recently, he spent six years as director of project development for the nationally recognized town of Ave Maria in Collier County.

Previously, Schrotenboer served as chief operating officer and director of development for Ave Maria International Golf Clubs in Ann Arbor, Mich. The position built upon his experience in the private country club industry, where he profitably managed some of the most prestigious clubs in the country.

Active in organizations both within and outside of the land development industry, Schrotenboer is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District Board of Directors, the Southwest Florida Transportation Initiative, the Club Managers Association of America and the Golf Course Owners Association. He also serves as vice president of the Bishop Verot High School Board of Directors.

Schrotenboer earned a Bachelor of Arts in hospitality management from Siena Heights University.
